Mark Brownstein

Senior Vice President, Energy, EDF

Mark Brownstein is Senior Vice President of Energy at Environmental Defense Fund, and a member of EDF’s executive team. He leads the organization’s work on electricity, oil and gas, and transportation. The goal of the program is to deliver tangible environmental and public health gains while accelerating the energy sector’s transition to a low carbon future.

Mark is a member of the Electric Power Research Institute’s Public Advisory Board and the University of Pennsylvania’s Kleinman Center for Energy Policy Advisory Board, and the National Petroleum Council.

He is an adjunct professor of law at New York University Law School where he co-teaches a seminar on public policy and energy project finance. Mark has also taught energy policy at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA).
