As Practice Manager for the World Bank’s Infrastructure Energy and Extractive Industries Global Practice, Sheldon helps countries sustainably develop and manage their oil, gas, and mining industries for inclusive economic growth and poverty reduction. He focuses on effective extractive industries governance, improving domestic resource mobilization and increasing transparency while ensuring local community needs are met and the environment protected.
An Australian national, Sheldon joined the Bank in 1999 as a Mining Specialist after working for an international mining company in Papua New Guinea and the Philippines. He became Practice Manager in 2012.
