Larry Persily

Federal Coordinator, Alaska Natural Gas Transportation Projects

Before accepting a presidential appointment as Alaska natural gas pipeline project coordinator in 2010, Persily worked for more than a decade on Alaska oil and gas issues for three governors and the legislature — including stints as deputy commissioner at the Alaska Department of Revenue, assistant director in the governor’s Washington DC office and legislative aide for the House Finance Committee co-chair. Before joining government, Persily worked as a journalist in Alaska for almost 25 years, covering government, politics, oil and gas and budget issues. He also has worked as an investigator for the state ombudsman office in Alaska, as a budget and tax aide for the Municipality of Anchorage, and as a fiscal policy consultant to the Alaska Municipal League.
