Clay Bretches

President and Chief Executive Officer, Sendero Midstream

Mr. Bretches is the President & CEO of Sendero Midstream Partners. Prior to joining Sendero, he worked at Anadarko for 14 years and held various executive management positions, including leadership of Anadarko’s global crude oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids marketing organization. He subsequently led the Exploration and Production Services division providing centralized commercial, technical, and logistical support to all of Anadarko’s worldwide operations. He has a deep understanding of midstream and marketing operations and was instrumental in the formation of Western Gas Partners, a highly successful midstream MLP created by Anadarko in 2008. Prior to joining Anadarko, Clay led the crude oil marketing and midstream operations for Vastar Resources. He started his energy career at Arco in various engineering roles. His education includes a BS in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M and an MBA from the University of Texas. Commissioned as an officer into the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from Texas A&M, he served in various leadership positions in the U.S. Army reserve. He serves on the Advisory Council of the Electric Power Research Institute and is the Executive Chairman of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation – Gulf Coast Chapter.
