Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Public Utilities Commission of Ohio

Asim Z. Haque is the chairman and chief executive officer of the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. He was appointed to the PUCO by Governor John R. Kasich in 2013.

Chairman Haque, an attorney, has represented Ohio’s interests in energy and utility matters within the state, nationally and internationally. He has testified before members of the Ohio General Assembly, the FERC, and has educated regulators abroad through formal partnerships with the U.S. AID.

Chairman Haque serves on the executive committee of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC). He is a past president of the Mid-Atlantic Conference of Regulatory Utilities Commissioners (MACRUC), and serves on the board of directors. In addition, he has been elected to serve on the Member Representative Committee of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation where he represents state interests in maintaining reliability of the electric grid.
