Matt Kolesar is the Issue Manager – Environmental, Health, & Safety for ExxonMobil’s subsidiary XTO Energy based in Fort Worth, Texas. He manages and coordinates global issue advocacy related to unconventional resources development. Matt joined Exxon Chemical in 1998 as an environmental advisor at the Baytown Olefins Plant. Matt worked in various technical and supervisory positions throughout the Baytown Complex, the largest petrochemical facility in North America, over the next 11 years. In 2009, Matt became the SSH&E Manager at the Joliet Refinery in Illinois.  He transitioned to a Global SSH&E Advisor for the ExxonMobil Chemical Company in 2012 and was named the Corporate Senior Environment, Regulatory, and Socioeconomic Consultant in February of 2016. In that role, he provided technical and regulatory support to Corporate and global operations focusing on environmental matters. Prior to joining ExxonMobil, Matt worked at The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. He has B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Akron, Ohio. Outside of work, Matt is a lifelong runner and an avid Cleveland sports fan.
