Charles Crews

Vice President of Gas Operations, Consumers Energy

Charles C. Crews is vice president of gas operations for Consumers Energy, the principal subsidiary of CMS Energy. He was elected to this position in 2015. Crews has responsibility for gas transmission, distribution, and the integrity of the company’s gas system. Crews also oversees gas measurement and Consumers Energy’s appliance service business.

Crews joined Consumers Energy in 2013 as director of project management and controls for Consumers Energy’s distribution, operations, engineering and transmission organization. His previous experience includes 20 years in roles of increasing responsibility at NiSource, Inc. in Columbus, Ohio and Houston, Texas.

Crews holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering from Ohio University, and a master’s degree with high distinction in business administration from Capital University. He also attended executive leadership programs at Rice University, Carnegie Mellon, and the American Gas Association.
