Vice President Corporate Strategy, Northeast Utilities

Mr. Serna is Northeast Utilities’ Vice President of Corporate Strategy. He joined NU on November 2008. He leads NU’s efforts to identify strategic growth opportunities inclusive of those related to clean energy technologies including grid modernization/smart grid, energy storage, energy efficiency and electric transportation. Camilo also leads implementation of key strategic initiatives such as the expansion of the natural gas system in CT and MA. He also leads the development of NU’s annual five-year strategic plan and investments and activities in research and development. Finally, Camilo manages NU’s unregulated investments in telecommunications and energy services. He is member of the Strategy Committee for the Institute for Innovation, Electricity and Efficiency (IEE) and a member of the Economic Policy Advisory Group for the Edison Electric Institute (EEI).

Prior to joining NU, Camilo worked for 9 years with Oliver Wyman. Camilo was member of Oliver Wyman’s Energy & Utility practice helping utility and energy companies in Europe, Latin America and North America. He holds an industrial engineering degree from Universidad de Los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia) and an MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
