Justin Smiley, director of Business Customer Relations, has been with Xcel Energy for 23 years. Justin is a native of Amarillo and attended Amarillo College before earning a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Texas Tech University. He holds a professional engineering license with the state of Texas.

Justin first joined Xcel Energy as an engineering intern in Amarillo and worked within the Distribution group until 2010 before joining Transmission as a substation field engineer. In 2015, Justin became the senior operations manager in Xcel Energy’s Substation operations and Maintenance group for Texas and New Mexico.

In his current role since 2022, Justin oversees customer relations managers who serve as primary liaisons between the company and its largest industrial customers in Texas and New Mexico.
