
Amir Gerges
Vice President - Permian, Shell
Amir Gerges is Vice President for Shell’s Permian Asset. He started his career with Shell in Egypt in 1998, and from there moved on to take various technical and business leadership roles for Shell in the UK, Norway, Korea, Russia, and The Netherlands. In 2011, he moved to the US to join the Deep Water business, as Development Manager for Shell’s Subsea Ventures in the Gulf of Mexico. Prior to his current role, Amir was Vice President Strategy & Planning for Shell’s Upstream businesses in the Americas, and the Integration Lead for Shell’s acquisition of BG. Amir holds a BSc in Construction Engineering and MSc in Environmental Sciences from the American University in Cairo. He is Fellow of the Energy Institute (FEI), a Chartered Petroleum Engineer (CEng.), Chairman of the Permian Road Safety Coalition (PRSC), and a member of the Board of Directors of Texas Oil & Gas Association (TXOGA) and the Permian Strategic Partnership (PSP). Amir is married to Marlene and together they have two children.
