
Luis Vera Morales
Executive Director, Agency for Safety, Energy and Environment
Luis R. Vera Morales has a Law Degree from the Escuela Libre de Derecho, an LLM in Energy and Environment from Tulane University –for which he was both a Fulbright Scholar and a Ford MacArthur Fellow-, and a PhD in Environment and Development from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional. Additionally, he has graduate studies in Corporate and Economic Law from the Universidad Panamericana.
He has an extensive professional trajectory in Socio-environmental and Energy Law including national and international experience in policy and consulting. He is a founding partner of Vera & Asociados Ambiental Legal, S.C the first law firm in Latin America dedicated exclusively to Environmental Law, Sustainable Development, Biotechnology and related areas.
Academically, he has been both an academic coordinator and professor of several masters and post graduate programs.
Currently, he is Mexico’s representative on the Science and Technology for Development Program of the United Nations and is Secretary of the Fulbright Scholar Association in Mexico.
Since December 1st 2018, he is Executive Director of the Agency for Safety, Energy and Environment (Agencia de Seguridad, Energía y Ambiente; ASEA).
