Michael Manteris co-founded and co-leads Blue Sky Infrastructure, a developer of CCS projects in the US Gulf Coast. Mr. Manteris has led the successful advancement of projects in Louisiana and Alabama, including submitting 6 administratively complete Class VI applications to EPA, completing the first stratigraphic test well in Louisiana’s River Parishes, completing Louisiana’s first CCS-focused 3D seismic survey, and successfully obtaining Phase III grant funding for Blue Sky’s projects under the Department of Energy’s CarbonSAFE program.
Prior to starting Blue Sky, Mr. Manteris held department head and business development roles at Cheniere Energy, Inc. From 2017-2021, Mr. Manteris was Vice President of Upstream Infrastructure, which was responsible for project development and execution, business development, and commercial services for Cheniere’s pipeline assets. In this role, Mr. Manteris executed over $2B of FERC-regulated natural gas infrastructure. Mr. Manteris served as a Board Member of the Interstate Natural Gas Association of America (INGAA) and was elected by INGAA member companies to serve on the Steering Council. Mr. Manteris’s prior roles at Cheniere included responsibility for originating and evaluating organic growth opportunities for the company. Prior to Cheniere, Mr. Manteris worked at Chesapeake Energy, helping secure long term firm natural gas transportation capacity and long term and structured natural gas and NGL sales.
Mr. Manteris received a M.A. from Johns Hopkins University and a B.S. Georgetown University.
