
Loan K. Tran
Greenhouse Gas Policy Manager ExxonMobil
Loan K. Tran was born in Vietnam and immigrated to the United States with her parents and eight siblings in 1975. Loan earned her Bachelor of Science from Southwestern University and a Master of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering from North Carolina State University. Loan started her career in government and consulting on air compliance enforcement, permitting, regulations, policy and community protection. In 1997, she joined Mobil Chemicals and since has held a number of roles in manufacturing at ExxonMobil’s refineries and chemical plants providing environmental expertise on permitting, compliance and policy. In 2008, Loan transitioned into broader technology leadership roles in Research & Engineering, including environmental and process technology section head, marketing technology lead, operating manager for ExxonMobil’s algae pilot plant, technology strategy planning advisor, and safety/health/environment manager. She then transferred to the midstream business as the US fuels west operations manager, supporting the gulf coast tributary integrated business team from 2015 to 2017. Loan currently holds a position in ExxonMobil’s Corporate Strategic Planning as the Greenhouse Gas Policy Manager, supporting the company’s work on energy transition, focusing on industry collaborations and engagement on key greenhouse gas policies across the globe.
