Carlos Lever Guzmán
Deputy Executive Coordinator, Mexican Petroleum Fund (FMP)
Carlos Lever Guzmán is an economist at the Mexican central bank (Banco de México) where he currently occupies the position of Deputy Executive Coordinator of the Mexican Petroleum Fund for Stabilization and Development (FMP). His team is responsible for administering the financial aspects of the hydrocarbon exploration and production contracts. Before joining the FMP, he worked in the General Directorate for Economic Research where he became the editor of the Banco de México Working Papers Series. He studied his bachelor in economics at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo Mexicano (ITAM) and his PhD at Stanford University, where he specialized in microeconomic theory. He has taught graduate and undergraduate courses at ITAM and CIDE Political Economy, Auctions, Contract Theory and Energy Economics.
