Prior to joining EXUS in 2020, Luis founded EIRA Capital, an investment platform that focuses on Energy and Infrastructure transactions in Mexico, and selected countries in Latin America. Also, Luis was previously part of Macquarie, where he spent more than seven years in the Macquarie Capital and Macquarie Funds divisions, working on fund capital raising, equity investments, and asset management activities, as well as third party advisory on energy and infrastructure transactions in Mexico and Latin America. During his years at Macquarie, he also held board positions in the several investments made by Macquarie which covered energy, PPPs, roads, and telecom companies.

Luis’ previous involvement at financial institutions include positions in the investment banking teams of Deutsche Bank’s M&A group in New York, and Citibank’s Banamex Accival M&A group in Mexico.

In addition, Luis currently participates as: (i) Independent Member of the Investment Committee of INFONAVIT’s Investment Fund; (ii) board member of SIMPATI Mobile, a new Mobile Virtual Network Operator covering the Mexican Market; and (iii) founder of Fundación Reversible, a new charitable foundation focused on global warming issues.

Luis holds an MBA from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at NYU in New York, and a BA in Accounting and Finance from ITESM in Mexico.
