Jonathan Glass

Director of Venture Accelerations, National Grid Partners

Jon is the Director of Venture Accelerations at National Grid Partners, the strategic venture capital investment and innovation arm of National Grid plc. In this role, Jon oversees the NextGrid Alliance, a collaboration network of over 60 power utilities that National Grid launched to foster innovation across the industry. He is also responsible for delivering a range of initiatives across National Grid to develop engagement with the “innovation ecosystem” and build an entrepreneurial mindset throughout the company. Jon has served as a corporate development executive for over 20 years and has experience in corporate venture capital, strategic partnerships, technology commercialization, new business and product creation, joint ventures and IP licensing.  Prior to joining National Grid in 2018, Jon was a co-founder at two start-up technology commercialization companies and, before that, held leadership roles at GE in its strategic investment, corporate finance, and IP licensing arms. Jon lives in Connecticut with his wife and two children and enjoys cycling, gardening and cooking in his spare time.
