Founder and CEO, Quanta3

Dr. Richter is founder and CEO of Quanta3, focusing on autonomous sensors designed for continuous methane emission monitoring for the oil and gas industry. In addition, Dr. Richter serves as a principal investigator, conducting NASA sponsored airborne research missions in the ALTAiR Advanced Laser Technology for Atmospheric Research laboratory, which is part of the Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Dr. Richter received his Ph.D. in physical electronics in 2001 from Rice University in Houston, Texas, and spent 12 years at the National Center for Atmospheric Research developing a series of ultra-sensitive laser-based spectrometers and wind motion sensors for airborne atmospheric research, which have been routinely deployed for the last 10 years accumulating over 3000 airborne research hours on various aircrafts and missions co-sponsored by NASA, NOAA, and NSF. Dr. Richter holds three patents and has co-authored two book chapters, over 50 peer-reviewed papers, and has given numerous scientific and invited talks at national and international conferences.
