Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, U.S. Department of Commerce

Stefan Selig is Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade at the U.S. Commerce Department and Executive Director of the President’s Export Council. At Commerce, he leads the International Trade Administration, which works to develop U.S. trade policy globally, create jobs and economic growth by promoting American companies and strengthen U.S. competitiveness across all industries. He also serves as Executive Director of the Travel and Tourism Advisory Board, sits on the board of the Overseas Private Investment Corp., is a commissioner for the Congressional Executive Commission on China and is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He previously served as executive vice chairman of Global Corporate and Investment Banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Before joining B of A, Selig held various senior investment banking positions on Wall Street. He has a B.A. in economics from Wesleyan University and an M.B.A. from Harvard.
