Sarah Battisti

Vice President, Government and Community Affairs, Southwestern Energy

Sarah Battisti is the Vice President of Government and Community Relations at SWN. She oversees all operational areas for SWN including Texas, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Arkansas. Sarah is a well-regarded expert in energy and environmental issues. Sarah has deep knowledge of the legislative process and depth of relationships in both the public and private sectors. Sarah previously served as Energy Practice Lead at Bravo Group representing a wide array of energy clients including DOW Chemical, NRG, SWN and others in the energy filed.  Sarah was also the President of the Pennsylvania Chemical Industry Council, an advocacy organization acting on behalf of the Pennsylvania chemical industry to improve the business climate through public policy advocacy, communication and education.  Sarah was also the Director of Government and Public Affairs – Pennsylvania for BG Group, an integrated natural gas company that provides exploration, production, storage, transportation and distribution that is active in 25 countries around the globe. In this role Sarah oversaw the legislative, regulatory and policy affecting the joint venture’s investment in Pennsylvania. In addition, she served on the Marcellus Shale Coalition Legislative Committee as CoChair, and met with key political stakeholders at the federal, state and local levels in support of business objectives. Prior to joining BG Group, Sarah served as a senior staff member of Governor Ed Rendell’s administration for almost a decade. Serving as Rendell’s Deputy Chief of Staff, she was also the Governor’s Liaison to the Departments of Environmental Protection, Conservation and Natural Resources, and Community and Economic Development. In addition, she managed special projects assigned by the Governor, including economic development and environmental programs associated with the Marcellus Shale, Census 2010, Office of International Business, American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding and program implementation. Sarah graduated from Moravian College with a B.A. in history and social science.
