Bill Yardley

President of U.S. Transmission, Spectra Energy

Bill Yardley is president of Spectra Energy’s U.S. transmission business, responsible for the company’s extensive network of natural gas infrastructure across the country. He leads the business development, project execution, operations and environment, health and safety efforts associated with Spectra Energy’s U.S. portfolio of assets. He also serves on the board of directors for Spectra Energy’s publicly traded master limited partnership, Spectra Energy Partners. Prior to assuming his current role in 2013, Yardley served as group vice president of the company’s Northeastern U.S. assets and operations.

Yardley joined the company in 2000 as general manager of marketing for Spectra Energy’s predecessor company, Duke Energy Gas Transmission, in Boston and later served as vice president of marketing and business development.
Before joining the company, Yardley was employed by Boston Gas Company. He served as director of gas supply from 1991 to 1994, general manager of gas supply from 1994 to 1997, and vice president of marketing from 1997 to 2000. The Needham, Mass., native earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Colby College in Waterville, Maine, and a master’s degree in business administra-tion from Northeastern University in Boston. Yardley is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School. Yardley is on the Board of the Northeast Gas Association and a member of the Leadership Council of the American Gas Association.
