Head of Business Development, Statoil Mexico
Monica Bøe is the Head of Business Development in Statoil Mexico. She is Vice Chair of the Technical Committee in the Mexican industry upstream organization, AMEXHI, and head of the AMEXHI Sub-Committee for Resources Access. From 2013-2014 she was Lead Chief Advisor for sustainability, environment, security and political analysis in Statoil’s internal quality assurance process for international opportunities and activities. She has led several country entry projects for Statoil and was responsible and for establishing Statoil’s governing documentation of how to assess entry into new countries for the company. She was an International Fellow with the Abshire-Inamori Leadership Academy on leadership, ethics and foreign policy at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington D.C. in 2014. She has been a representative in Statoil’s Corporate Risk Committee, and worked with government affairs for Statoil in Washington D.C. Monica has worked in Statoil since February 2008 and has been responsible for following exploration and production projects and opportunities for Statoil in Latin America (Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, and Suriname). Before joining Statoil, she worked at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has a Master`s Degree in Comparative Politics and International Relations. Monica is a Norwegian national, and has studied, worked and lived in France, Indonesia, Ecuador, Argentina, the US and Mexico.
