Miguel is Deloitte Mexico’s Tax & Legal Services Industry Leader for Energy & Natural Resources and founder of the Mergers & Acquisitions Tax Practice.
Miguel has served private equity funds, multinationals, governmental and financial institutions delivering tax solutions in a wide range of overarching situations including going public, expansions, acquisitions, dispositions, cash repatriations and business optimizations applying insight and expertise within the broad taxation spectrum. He has been recognized by International Tax Review as one of the worlds’ leading indirect tax advisers, by Finance Monthly Magazine and Tax Advisor.
Miguel has extensive experience on the Oil & Gas, Mining Industry, and Water treatment sector, he has worked with rig leasing companies, drillers, exploration and production companies, oilfield service companies, pipeline operators, commodity traders, gasoline distributors, maritime companies, de-salinization plants, mining companies and petrochemical companies. On Power Sector he has worked with traditional and alternative energy producers, the national transportation and distributor grid, and wholesalers.
Miguel is a graduate from Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), Mexico City, Mexico, He is a PhD(c) and holds a Master from Universidad Antonio de Nebrija, Madrid, Spain, a Diploma in Finance from Universidad Panamericana, Mexico City, Mexico and a course in World Hydrocarbon Fiscal Regimes from CWC School of Energy, London, England. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Professional Certificate in Tax from Instituto Mexicano de Contadores Públicos, Mexico City, Mexico.
